Le Galaxie: “Love System (Feat. Elaine May)”
Le Galaxie aren’t from France. Nope, definitely not. Instead, they have the privilege of being part of the ever expanding universe that is the Dublin scene. While there’s certainly plenty of ear-friendly music coming from that beloved island these days, the new EP from these four masked gentlemen, Fade to Forever, stands out for its guileless blend of 2006 and 1986. The infectious soft synth licks of “Love System” are about as gossamer as it gets. Before you even realize you’re ensnared, Elaine May’s vocals creep up deliver the pop music coup de grace. Bam. You’re brain dead and you’re thoroughly enjoying it. The thing is that band genuinely seems to be, too. We have sincere doubts that anyone could put on such a Point Break-ish display if they weren’t truly into it. Consuming this amount of pure sugar usually comes paired with a warning not to overindulge, but whatever, it’s the weekend in most parts of the world by now. Go for it.
Fade to Forever is now available from The Delphi Label
