TV Buddhas: “Hello To Loneliness”

Berlin-based Israeli trio TV Buddhas are a genuine throwback to the mid-80s days of hard-touring, floor-sleeping punk bands who criss-crossed their way around the world and played in every dank basement or back-room that would have them. The sound of their latest single “Hello To Loneliness” is a dead ringer for the down tuned aggro-churn of the much-missed Wipers and conjures up a similarly rainy and windswept air of River’s Edge alienation and frustration that was pioneered by Greg Sage’s great band. The two-track 7″ was recorded and mixed in a single day, showing the band’s commitment to “jammin’ econo” and indicating that their natural habitat is out on the road – they even made a tragi-comic documentary about their disastrous first American tour, a brutal-sounding experience that, in true hardcore fashion, only made them more determined to continue their musical crusade.
Hello To Loneliness is available on 7″ from Staatsakt
