möscow çlub: “Our Pastime”

Some of you will likely recognize möscow çlub‘s “Our Pastime” as the opening track from the JPN C86 compilation they curated a few months back. If you do, kudos. If not, you are in for a treat, because this track has enough arpeggiated synth and impassioned, lilting vocals to make OMD blush. Now The Wooden Lens production collective have paired the track with a quite literal and extremely science fictional vid that coaxes out the piece’s nascent sense of wonder and gives you plenty of face time with a haggard H.G. Wells avatar. The visual samplings from 1960′s The Time Machine and various decontextualized space missions and educational films are spliced into a miniaturized epic that traces the outline of the original film, but delivers an overall more entertaining and 100% morlock free experience. Plug in some good headphones and let this feel-good synth pop anthem knock you around time and space a little bit.

möscow çlub recently released a self-titled zine/CD LP in an edition of 200 uniquely customized copies. Grab it here. You can also find more of their music on Soundcloud
