IT 95 – Of All the Things We Made

The storied patrons of the Athens, Greece’s EBM-ish scene known alternately as IT 95, In Trance 95, ItEnEf, and ITeNef recently took their powerful brand of minimalism to work on one of OMD’s more spare and atypical tracks, “Of All the Things We Made.” While in many ways not a huge departure, the cover deepens the gentle melancholy of the original through subtle musical innovation, carefully managed resonance, and touches of dissonance. It’s an intriguing and appealing specimen of creative reinterpretation across time and context. Also the video’s not so bad to look at. Just sayin.
