Eternity Vision: “Flow”

2012′s summer Olympic games are now a fading, gold-dusted memory. We wait for the next spectacle, the next pomp production, and the peaceful international vibes of this ancient sporting tradition to come around again in two years time. How will we pass the time in this void? Lucky for us two music mad entities from Russia have gathered talent together for one brand new album odyssey titled Team Olympique. ”Team Olympique is the collaboration between Ritmo Sportivo label and Big Echo blog, a research about the integration of young producers of post-Soviet space to a powerful team in series of musical arts,” so says the PR write up put out by label and blog collaborators. There’s so much here in the way of electronic tones, everything from ambient to pulsating “Glo-fi” (that’s the comp’s term). One highlight is Eternity Vision’s “Flow.” EV’s piece moves and melts with ease in our sound world. Very 80s might be a trite kiss-off, but we only mean it in the best way. This is music of the decade that gave us much in the echoing boom of drums and groovin’, slippery synths. Eternity Vision’s tune has the sunset along the Pacific Coast Highway embedded in its melody and locked in its rhythms. How this piece of music fits in with the rest of comp. is lovely because the pacing and sequencing of the entire album is thoughtful from start to finish.
Final note: the 2014 games will be held in Sochi, Russia. How (WAY) ahead are these guys, right?
